Debris
Underneath
Her grave smile
She has slept with,
Bending her mind,
Silencing her heart.
Alone,
With the cruelest memories
To seal life in her veins,
To hollow out love
From her soul.
Calm the eyes,
Surrender the flesh
To keep the release, still frozen
Upon winter’s stroke.
A caress to keep her low.
Walking through a curtain,
Setting scenery beneath
Bathing majesty.
Cutting oceans in halves,
Sending stars
To greater deserts.
Upon the burial
Of a failed vow
Torn from the heart of another,
She walks
From nakedness
To the nest of her discovery.
