Poem – “In the Cloud of your Beauty” – Romanticism – 3/9/2021

Funnel the hope,
Bend your naked self
Around the sensation in your veins,
And make of a rope
With sinew and rotting kisses.

Place your feet
Back to a memory in the past.
Hold hands with
Straw-laden wastebaskets,
For a portion of your heart
Has been trashed.

Among delicacy
With your smile,
The falsehood of the immaculate
And somber state of the moon,
Counting your tears
Left off with the years.

Plain and open,
With arms to stretch
Across the scenery of sorry miles,
Fending for the thickness of brush,
Bleeding your palms in the thorns.
