Poem – “Signature on the Horizon” – Love Poetry – 3/22/2021

How goes it
Of twin stalemates,
Holding vapor in the lungs,
Churning clouds
In the duality of distance,
As rain might fall
Upon either hemisphere?

Losing our tears
In places we could swim.
Why would we bathe
In the ocean between us?

Once simple sentence,
A singular sadness
Expressed from lips,
Begging for that kiss
To melt such pain from
The sleepless sun.

All I see
Of the east
Is your rise, beginning to hear
All those cries, burning through fear,
Wishing to know
What could not
Perhaps be,
Before time soon rots
This surge of sickened sounds.
Certain smiles, yearning sighs
Beginning to fade.
