Poem – “Collected Rubble” – Love Poetry – 5/6/2021

With eyes
Sleeping through the cure,
Simple in death,
Watered
In the blur.
All else stirs,
Elswhere, in the breeze,
Simple motions
For fertile boughs,
Wasting seeds.

Your death,
To be
Without breath.
Your eyes
Have seen my flame,
Have caught
The fires,
In the lane.

Splended rush,
Pebbles caught in the hair,
Termites eat
Once-tempting structure.

Once lost
In your air,
Beneath your breath,
Sweet with the sunrise.

Collected rubble,
Finding a heart
Amid
The stain of graveyards,
Where love wept.
