Poem – “This Fossil of your Beauty” – Love Poetry – 5/6/2021

Cradle to rock
This life, to mock
The reason
A heart keeps beating.
A clock
Keeps spinning
On, with rhythm.
Gone,
Without a hand
For the hold.

Keep yourself,
Save what is left
For the other
Side of a spent coin.
I wanted,
I kept
The love, alive,
On a train for your forgiveness
When all I have to offer
Is the dreadful blaze.

The flame,
Counted as teardrops,
Infinite
With the stars,
As I’ve broken you
On the bridge, to me.

Life’s voyage
To kill the stirr, inside,
Holding the storm
In dewed fingers.
