Poem – “Discover you, Overboard” – Romanticism – 5/29/2021

Half the rooms
Concealed in shadows,
Buried in the thought of you
For pictures that would not overturn,
For traces of you
Ceased to burn.

Simple tears
From a sun that would only
Half-way set
Upon the horizon
Where puddles are gathered,
Enough to split the pathway
On my journey to you.

Blink while the world goes dark
Within your trembling arms,
As I will receive your kiss
Beneath the ocean.

There is a moon,
There are the stars
Finite phases for infinite tears,
Diamond shapes in the minute years.

While each caress
Holds us to eternity,
We weep for the leaves to fall
From trembling limbs,
A sunrise encircled in red.
