Upwards from the snow
to see your face,
glowing throughout
the blur from
the undertow.
How would we know
when the right second
hits our mark?
We’ll just hand out
our arms, covered in ivy
for a makeshift speech,
an ode of devotion
to our combination.
How would we tell
which heartbeat understood
the timing better than us?
Life can burn its torch
until darkness bathes us.
Love will ignite this
poignant pathway
until we’re surrendering
our bodies,
upon a white altar.
A frame to be our
undivided shelter,
for us to trace colors
blended for eternity.
