Poem – “My Bleeding Eyes” – Romanticism – 1/23/2021

How I yearn,
Placing fountain before youth,
Holding her crossed
In my endangered heart.
I had loved
With only a moment to allow
My knees to bend
At the sight of her beauty.

The worthiest of vows
From my soiled mind.
A battered heart
Becomes alive,
For a quickened second,
Relieving the past,
Drowning the moment,
Revealing the future.

My eyes
Bleed all the world’s tears
Upon my hands.
I stream the naked rivers
Close to the edges
Of my lips.

Can she forgive
The birthed Devil,
The frantic man
Who sends words from no
Origin of his assurance,
World of his understanding?
