Poem – “Count the Days of Beauty” – Romanticism – 3/6/2021

Here, to recall
The waters, through the reflection
Of my faceless, unkind self.
Counting the days of rain,
When a sunshine came through
The weeping skies
To raise the sunken seeds.

Here, to remiss
In desperate recollection
Of all I could not, or did not
Care to keep contained.

Here, to kiss
The fallen droplets
Brought down on her cheeks,
Walking through a stare,
Her puddles
From ivory eyelids,
Hell-born meadows.

She always suffered.
The notes of her sorrows
In the tides of the ocean,
Catching currents,
Placing sadness back
In the most turbulent heart.
