Poem – “Loving Hell” – Love Poetry – 3/21/2021

Lustful burn
Near waiting smiles,
Cold caress
Of palms atop beaming
Twin shoulders,
With porcelain cheeks
Dotted by the stinging tears,
For you have fed
Your heart the feast of loneliness
Much too long.

Healing appetite,
Though you’ll never yearn
For another bite
When mouth falls together
With mouth.

My love,
Put your eyes instead
To the sun,
To douse yourself
In forgotten colors.

Bleed open
Yourself, from the awakening
Of a dying smile,
Building your shelter
With brick after red brick,
Never fading
In the waiting night
While you belong
Eternally at my side.
