Poem – “How to Lift the Weight” – Love Poetry – 3/25/2021

Drift
Across delicate aisles,
Screaming to the sidelines
That one could remember
What no one else forgot,
Of you, among the filth, the swell
Of tension in the befitting air.

Drifting
With life to confound itself,
Resound itself in the confining light,
Screaming to the infinite void
To rediscover finite travesty.

Wither
With wilting arms,
Controlling naught but the space
That keeps you afloat,
For its dark perplexity
For your insecurity
Demands repercussion.

Withering
In life, undermined,
Blowing candles out that caught you
Holding what little remains
Of this transparent life.
